As you will see from our achievements we have had some success in attracting Vets & Vet students, as well as a Vet outside Peru, to our area. Without the services of the Vets it is extremely difficult to provide the necessary services. We want to introduce a program that will encourage the establishment of permanent veterinarian services. This would enable us to offer a range of services to people who are very poor, as well as to people who have the ability to pay. The primary service will be a Spay and Neuter (S/N) for small animals. At the same time we will take the opportunity to further educate the owner’s on animal well being (animal husbandry). The end result being that they can better care for their animals so this practice becomes a "norm.”
Establishing a program like this will contribute to the sustainability of our centre as it will enable us to be more consistent with the services & education we know is needed.
